A journey to France is a dream come true for anyone
serious about fine cuisine and wine. For Culinary
Arts and Pastry Arts students,
the dream becomes a reality with the college's unique Tour of
France. As the only course of its kind in the country, the Tour
of France is an eight-day gastronomic journey through the charming
villages, famous vineyards, and magnificent countryside of the
Champagne and Burgundy regions of France. On this culinary journey,
students learn from the local chefs, winemakers, and food artisans,
who lead them through fascinating tours, tastings, and meals.
Students earn 3 credits while touring France with
faculty members and a guest French chef. This tuition-inclusive
excursion begins in the Champagne region where students discover
one of the region's luxury champagne houses. They travel to Burgundy,
Dijon, Beaune, Auxerre, and conclude in Paris.
In each city, they'll enjoy a hotel breakfast and an exciting
day of touring and tastings. Every afternoon there's free time
set aside for shopping, dining, and discovering the special charms
of France. Evenings come to a close with a wonderful meal with
classmates and mentors. School should always be this incredible!
There is always something exciting happening at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.
