The campus is alive with a menu of student activities, which support educational enthusiasm and camaraderie. Walnut Hill's Office of Student Affairs coordinates guest lectures by industry leaders, cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs and cookbook authors, field trips to restaurants, hotels, wineries, and much more.
Students are encouraged to participate in the college's clubs. These associations guarantee résumé-building experiences.

The Book Club. Through this club, students who love reading are given the tools to further stimulate their interest in various types of literature, developing a sense of professionalism through the venue of reading.
The Brewing Club. This club offers students the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the various attributes of beer. Through purchase of brewing equipment and ingredients used in the brewing process, students grow their ability to make unique local beers. Through speakers, events, tastings, and meetings, students gain knowledge of pairing beer with food.
The Cheese Club. Students share and grow in their interest of cheese. The cheese club explores all aspects of cheese, from experimenting with the process of making cheese, visiting experts in the field, and tasting a variety of cheeses, the members of this club enhance their knowledge of types of cheeses, cooking with cheese, as well as pairing cheeses with food and wine.
The Diversity Club. Students gain an interest in diversity, spreading an awareness and understanding of people from all walks of life. They gain a sense of professionalism in the field of hospitality, one of the most diverse industries. Through service to community and College, fundraising and events, students cultivate interest throughout the student body, helping to solve the ignorance, prejudice and stereotypes that comes with living in a diverse community.
The Italian Club. The purpose of this club is to stimulate and develop an interest in Italy and all that the cuisine, and culture has to offer today's emerging culinary professionals.
The Pastry Club. Students interested in pastry, bread making, and decorating techniques join this club to expand their pastry repertoire and refine their techniques. Activities include demonstrations by Philadelphia's top pastry chefs as well as trips to chocolate factories, pastry shops, and The Philadelphia Candy Show. |
