David Morrow
dmorrow@walnuthillcollege.edu

Mr. Morrow was born and raised in New Jersey where he spent his leisure time at the beach, with friends, and in his mother’s kitchen. It was the time he spent in the kitchen that led him to his career in foodservice. He always has had a passion for food…cooking it, creating with it, designing it, and most of all, eating it!

It was this passion for food that led him to attend Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where he studied and obtained his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts . However, during that time, he discovered he had better leadership and management skills than culinary skills. He decided to stay on at J & W and get two bachelors degrees in Foodservice Management and Hotel/Restaurant Institutional Management. It was at Johnson & Wales where he also had his first teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant while working on his Masters in Managerial Technology.

His blend of passions for food and teaching has guided his personal philosophy while in restaurant operations…that philosophy…above anything else, is that people are the most important asset. This belief in people is what allowed him to succeed in restaurant operations for more than 10 years and led him to earn his certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), which he uses in all aspects of his life.

After more than 10 years in restaurant operations that took him all across the United States (including Colorado, New Mexico, Massachusetts, and Indiana), he had the opportunity to co-author several books in the areas of food safety, as well as in career development. While working on his books, he also worked as a restaurant consultant, and continues to consult today while teaching at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Morrow currently lives in Doylestown, PA with his wife and two boys, Alex and Tyler where he continues to cook as a hobby. His greatest joys are his two boys, and teaching them what he has learned throughout his life. Mr. Morrow looks forward to learning from each of you, everyday.
